You’re Design Hear
BayArt recently hosted Welsh sound artist Eugene Capper for a unique residency exploring the experience of tinnitus through experimental audio-visual work. Capper, who lives with tinnitus, spent his time in BayArt’s newly launched writing room creating compositions using specialised tinnitus noise machines. The residency was supported in part by Tŷ Cerdd as part of their commitment to fostering new musical projects across Wales.
This autumn, the outcomes of Capper’s residency will be shared in a performance and audio-visual installation at the BayArt Gallery. Capper’s project highlighted the artistic potential of sound and raised awareness of tinnitus.
The residency is a key milestone in BayArt’s relaunch as we expand to support a wider range of creative disciplines, including sound, writing, and performance alongside visual arts.
